It’s always nice to know what you can expect when visiting our office for the first time. Here’s a short description of what your care will involve during each visit with us.

New Patients

Kulow Chiropractic & Wellness Center is a warm and comfortable place that keeps your convenience in mind at all times. Starting care at our office involves a single phone call. Rest assured that your treatment will begin immediately at your first appointment.

We want you to take your time learning about chiropractic and how our office works, so we spread out the information we give you over several days. This process is designed so that you:

• Understand your specific problem
• Understand how it got to this point
• Understand why other avenues didn’t work
• KNOW what it’ll take to get permanent results

We want you to feel at home the moment you walk in the door. After completing some brief paperwork, you’ll sit down with Dr. Kulow to discuss the reason for your visit and how our office can help you reach your goals to better health. Next we will perform and examination with ranges of motion and orthopedic testing to determine the severity of your issues and how we can better serve your needs. Then we will discuss treatment options and decide on the treatments best suited for your needs. Finally, we will perform the treatments, as discussed, to begin your healing process.

Your First Visit

After your initial treatment our team will help you get set up for your next appointment and discuss financial information with you.

Your Regular Visits

When you come in after your initial appointment, you’ll begin your agreed upon treatment plan.

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing you can move around in to these appointments and plan on spending about an hour with us depending on your treatment plan.

Do I Have To Go For the Rest of My Life?

Chiropractic care is often believed to be a lifetime commitment, but this in not true. While some people believe that discontinuing chiropractic care will cause their spine to revert to a state of disrepair and discomfort, this is a myth.

Chiropractic care is about aligning your spine, relieving muscular tension, nervous interference, and developing good habits to maintain long-term relief, not creating dependency. The confusion arises from misunderstanding the different stages of care that chiropractors offer.

Chiropractor offer three stages of care:

1) Relief Care

Relief care is intensive and aims to quickly relieve symptoms.

2) Stabilization or Corrective Care

Stabilization care strengthens and stabilizes the spine and joints to prevent symptoms from returning and changing habits that cause symptoms to reappear.

3) Maintenance Care

Maintenance care helps maintain the corrections made during relief and stabilization care to prevent future problems from occurring. The frequency of maintenance care varies per person, but it typically involves a monthly check-up and adjustment.

It is important to note that the speed of progress through the different stages of care varies from person to person. Patients should work closely with their chiropractor to monitor their progress and discuss results.

In conclusion, chiropractic care is not a lifetime commitment, you have the choice to stop after pain is relieved or reduced. However, many patients choose to continue with maintenance care to maintain a healthy neuromusculoskelatal system and prevent future issues.

Our job is to help you reach your health goals, make changes to your body to reach optimal health, and help you maintain optimal health in the future. This will help keep the stresses of everyday life under control and keep you feeling great.
